The Automotive Retailers Association was established in 1947 to bring together small
business people who ran the local service stations. By the early 1950's a division for the
collision repair operators in our province was established. The association and it's
members negotiated issues of concern with the private insurance companies. When ICBC was
established and government insurance became a reality in our province in 1974 the ARA
continued to represent the collision repair operators of our province. Some of the many
issues the ARA and it's members negotiate and research with ICBC are; safety and quality
of repair, training for technicians and remuneration for services provided to motorists in
our province. Don Beck Collision
Services believes they have an obligation to better the industry in which they
serve. Evidence of the Don Beck commitment in working toward a better industry is shown below, as the president of the ARA
presents Don with a lifetime achievement award in recognition of his contribution to the
collision repair industry.
Don was elected president of the ARA in September of 1999 and
continues along with other dedicated members if the ARA in the development of a well
trained and educated industry.
